Well it has been a busy November for university competitions, with two SSS League Matches, plus the Griftsmouth.

The first League Match at Strathclyde saw the senior team (Piotr, Ewan, Aurelien and Graeme) finish second in the match and also break the 5 year old senior team record, with 2118. The novice team (Jean, Anja and Jenny) got 1099 which was enough for fourth place. Piotr was 5th placed gent overall with 540 and Jean was 2nd gent novice with 445.

Two weeks later the same senior team smashed the record again with 2180 at Heriot-Watt. This was only 36 points behind Edinburgh! Graeme scored 548 and was 5th gent, Aurelien, Ewan and Piotr all shot 544 (6th, 7th and 8th gent!). Jean was 1st placed gent novice by a clear 20 points, with 503. The novice team (Jean, Anton and Anja) finished 2nd.

Both teams are now second in their respective League Tables, with two matches still to go.

In between was the Griftsmouth as hosted by Edinburgh. Jules came 2nd in the Griftsmouth, Ewan was 2nd in the Portsmouth round (1st student as Matt was 1st overall) and Niall was 4th in the biggest difference category.

During November, we welcomed 12 new archers (Anja, Anton, Aurelien, Christian, Eva, Graeme, Jean, Jenny, Kat A, Kat M, Morgane and Perrine) on to the NUAC competitive roll of honour which is probably some kind of record as well.

Congratulations to the NUAC squad of 10 selected to contest the first Scottish Universities League Match of the season, at Strathclyde on Sat 5th Nov. The squad comprises:

Seniors: Aurélien, Ewan, Graeme, Niall, Piotr
Novices: Anja, Christian, Jean, Jenny, Kat M

The minibus will be leaving the NSA at 09:00 sharp on Saturday morning, so please arrive early and prepared with everything you’ll need.

Travel costs will be £7 – please bring that to the session on Friday night. Also, there may be some spaces on the minibus available for spectators.

Once we get back to Edinburgh, Nathan is leading the expedition up Arthur’s Seat for the “traditional” NUAC firework display. Please give him your £5 if you haven’t done so already.
