Please note some changes to the calendar – no Beginner Training on Tuesday.
This is due to the fact that we moved all the equipment to North Merchiston Club (all available targets and all club bows and arrows).

Training for Novice / Beginner archers:
- Sunday 25th, 4 – 7 pm, North Merchiston Club

Training for Seniors only (to be confirmed):
- Tuesday 20th, 6 – 8 pm, Craiglockhart
- Thursday 22nd, 6 – 8 pm, Crailglockhart
Seniors will be able to shoot at these sessions as soon as we get stands for the 2 foam bosses stored at Craiglockhart.

We are meeting at North Merchiston Club at 4:00 pm this Sunday to have our first session indoors at this venue!

We will be meeting at the McCowans Brewhouse soon after the session and they will have some free food for us around 7:30 pm. Please come also, if you are not able to make the archery session.

Please bring money to purchase Sports Union cards, if you haven’t got one yet – see the Sports Union Cards post.

See the Join us section for information on the venue.

As stated in a previous post, you must join the Sports Union to be a member of any Napier club, which cost £15 for the year.

We have just been told by the NSA that the deadline is 26th September. It is very important that you join by this date because the budget of the club, and therefore the quality of equipment and hours of training, depends on the number of members the club has at this date. As required by the NSA, you won’t be able to participate to any club activities (training, competitions…) after 26th September if you have not joined the Sports Union.

Once you get your Sports Union card, you must register online at http://www.montpeliers.co.uk/napier. You should select “archery” in the list of the clubs. That will allow the club to get money anytime you go to one of the NSA sponsor’s venue (http://www.montpeliers.co.uk/) using your card.

We can take care of your affiliation with the Sports Union for you if you bring £15 at a training session, ideally this Sunday (18th). If for any reason you want to do it yourself or can’t attend any training session by 26th September, let us know by email what your Sports Union card number is before the deadline.

Have a look at http://www.napierstudents.com/sports/membership-cards-2011.php for more information about Sports Union cards.

For non (yet) member, you can still join us at anytime, just come to any training session. Obviously, if you plan on joining the club we will be happy if you do it before 26th September for the reasons stated above, but this is not an obligation.

Just a note to acknowledge that the weather isn’t great but at least some of us will be at Craiglockhart tonight waiting for the keenest beginners!
If it’s too wet, we’ll go inside the building and talk a little about the equipment.

For those who decide not to come today because of the weather, we have good news! Starting this Sunday we go indoors at the North Merchiston Club!

Sports Union cards are now being sold for £15 (for the whole year). If you are a member of our club, you must get one. That provides all members with insurance, affiliation with archery governing bodies, discounts at certain pubs and clubs and allows you to represent the University at competitions.

We can take care of your affiliation to the Sports Union for you. You just need to bring £15 at any training session. Otherwise, you can join through other clubs or directly at the NSA.

Note that the cards are currently being sold from 11.30am to 1.30pm and 3.00pm to 4.00pm only, Monday to Friday, at the NSA.

If you choose to buy your card directly from the NSA or through another club, please let us know your card number.
